I went to India in 2000 to study yoga and meditation and lived there for 15 years. I spent 8 years in an international meditation centre in Pune and then moved to Goa to teach yoga in several resorts. During my stay in India, I sat with many great teachers and acquired knowledge that changed my life.
I see enormous benefits from practising yoga and I know firsthand how a daily practice can improve physical and mental wellbeing. I believe that yoga is the most natural and complete practice for enhancing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. The human mind and body are intimately connected and we cannot deny this truth. Yoga will improve and even transform the quality of our life. With regular practice, we become flexible in mind and body. We can live a more relaxed and balanced life. A steady yoga practice can help us let go of bad habits and addictions. Heal trauma and restore our health. Even improve our relationships and become enthusiastic about life!
“Hatha Yoga”
In this class, we teach proper alignment while offering postures that strengthen and promote flexibility. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. Expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. I will lead you through a variety of standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds and hip openers. At the end of the class, we will have a long guided relaxation and meditation with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind.
Suitable for Beginners, Level 1-2
“Vinyasa Flow Yoga”
( flowing with breath) is a dynamic style of Hatha yoga which links physical postures (asana) with the breath. Our Flow classes are designed to cultivate heat in the body while moving through creative sequences. Sun Salutations, standing and seated postures, back bend and arm balances are taught with a strong emphasis on proper alignment and breath. Our Flow classes tend to be quite stimulating and vigorous.
Suitable for level 1-2
“Restorative Yoga“
Enjoy the feelings of rejuvenation and steadiness that arise from this practice. Slow down and move into silence. Calm the mind and nerves, and experience the joy within. This class will flow through many simple postures designed to slowly and gently build internal heat, gradually open and stretch all parts of the body. Meditation and Pranayama (breath work) promote relaxation. The class ends with soothing, restorative postures that settle the body and mind in a calm, peaceful state. The concept of this class is how to use simple postures in conjunction with the pranayama, removing stress on a cellular
level and improving concentration. Let’s learn how much love we can give to our body! Suitable for all levels and ages.
“Yoga Nidra“
Yoga Nidra (or yogic sleep) is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, typically induced by a guided meditation. In Yoga Nidra the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. They remain with four senses internalised – that is, withdrawn – and only hearing still connects to any instructions given. The goals of both yogic paths, Yoga Nidra and meditation, are the same – a state of meditative consciousness. It is one of the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full awareness.
